During his childhood Sebastien was used to listening blues and rock with his dad. This early passion for music led the young boy to start the guitar when he was 14. At the age of 15 he had his first revelation: he discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan. The famous guitarist has remained his biggest source of inspiration ever since.
The blues Music allowed Sebastien to get a deep insight into the roots of music with legends like Howlin Wolf, Elmore James, Muddy Waters and many more.
He discovered the Finger Picking with one of the Master: Jacques Stotzem. Sebastien attended several master classes with the famous Guitarist. This experience has enabled Sebastien to master his musical skills. Since then he has always worked hard in order to give every single song a spirit that characterizes his style.
Sebastien also played in a Funk/Rock band called Casino with whom he recorded three EP. They toured together for five years in the area of Liège.
At the age of 20 Sebastien entered the Jazz Studio of Antwerp. He was eager to discover and to study the Jazz music, which is, in his opinion, essential to get used to improvisation, phrasing and harmony. During his school program, he worked with great professors such as Laurent Mercier, Stéphane Mercier, Richard Rousselet, Vincent Romain, Victor Da Costa and many more. He also discovered Jazz legends like Bill Evans, John Coltrane and Wes Mongomery.
When he was 22 year-old he decided to apply for the Conservatorium of Maastricht. He really wanted to improve his skills more and more.
In 2013 he recorded an album with the Belgian band “Les R’tardataires”. He has been touring with them since then. In November 2014, he experienced his first tour in Canada with this band. According to Sebastien, it was probably one of the greatest experiences he had lived so far.
In 2013 he also recorded his first EP in the studio “Homerecords” in Liège. He is currently working on his first album.
Sebastien also holds different classes in three music schools. He is really appreciated as music teacher.
