KollecTiv presents a program of traditional Jazz in a contemporary setting.
The music features pieces by the big jazz names such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Wayne Shorter…..
KollecTiv is a collective of musicians from Antwerp who have been playing together for more than 15 years and consists of renowned names from the Belgian Jazz scene.
As a result, they are still one of the few permanent line-ups within Belgian jazz and they have also developed their own sound.

Koen Nys: Tenor Saxo
Koen is a true globetrotter, he traveled the world from Toronto to New York and Tokyo.
He currently plays alongside KollecTiv in the Muze Jazz Orchestra, has his own trio Mazzle with Bram Weijters and Lionel Beuvens and plays in various projects.
Ondine Quackelbeen: Double bass
Ondine Quackelbeen is director and co-founder of the Jazzstudio in Antwerp and founded the Popsoulstudio.
In 1998 she was one of the founders of the European federation EMMEN (European Modern Music Educational Network).
She is one of the few female bass players in jazz and has played with Forest Jazz Quintet, Blue Jazz Quartet, Trio Vongole. Sentido and Low Tones.
In addition, she has her own Trio PUUR.
Herman Pardon: Drums
Herman is a fixed value within Belgian Jazz.
He studied at the Conservatory of Rotterdam with Peter Ypma, Fred Krens and Hans Van Oosterhout. He attended workshops with, among others, Jeff Hamilton, Adam Nussbaum
and Steve Smith and private lessons with Steve Clover.
He also played as a freelance drummer with Dick De Graaf, Bob Brookmeyer, Octurn, Jan Muës Sextet, etc ... and recorded CDs with Ernst Vranckx, Bert Joris and John Ruocco.
He is active in groups such as Score Man, T-unit 4, Fabrizio Graceffa Quartet, Zygomatic, The jazz station big band and Piet Verbist Trio.
Gunther Valckenier: Guitar
Gunther is the founding member of KollecTiv. he took lessons with Pierre van Dormael, Ben Boogaart, Hendrick Braekman,
Peter Hertmans, Ben Sluys, Pierre Vaiana, Frank Vaganée, David Crane... and he attended workshops with Serge Lazarevich, among others.
As a musician he played with: Blue Jazz Quartet, Hallucinations with Swa Mercelis, Victor Da Costa.
He is also a freelance musician where he played with Herman Pardon, Chris Mentens, Ewout Pierreux, Dirk Dergent, Dirk Vanderlinden, koen Nys, Richard Rousselet...
