Lucas Bakker (°2009), the young Ghent resident with Flemish and Dutch roots, plays alto, tenor and soprano saxophone. In addition to performing, he also composes his own songs. For example, he won the Dutch Wind Ensemble composition competition in 2022 with his first creation Polar. In 2023 he won first prize at the Princess Christina Jazz Competition in the age category 12-15 years in the BIMHUIS in Amsterdam with, among other things, Toots Toast, his own composition in honor of Toots Thielemans. Thanks to his passionate way of playing and his virtuoso improvisations from an early age, Lucas has left a deep impression on many. Limited places, please reserve!!!
