Alessandro Fongaro Quintet

Alessandro Fongaro (1991, Valdagno, Italy) is a bassist and composer based in the Netherlands. In the late 2013, he embraced the role of band-leader putting together the Alessandro Fongaro 5et, an international project that features some of the finest musicians living in the Lowlands, Donald Simoen (as), Federico Castelli (gr), Thomas Maasz (pn), Attila Gyarfas (dr).
The 5et was successfully introduced to the Dutch scene by winning two of the most important awards:
• Erasmus Jazz Prijs 2014
• The Records 2015 (Keep an Eye Foundation)

In 2015 Alessandro released his debut album “Neither More nor Less” with the Dutch label ‘Mainland Records’.

Alessandro accomplished his bachelor degree at Codarts (Rotterdam) in July 2014
graduating with the highest honors and then moved to Amsterdam to follow the master
program at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
